For this reason, it is vital to be updated today for the good work practice and professional growth. Unfortunately it is not always easy access to all current medical knowledge, but due to the possibility of open access provided by Family Medicine & Medical Science Research, you can publish and share the latest information in the medical field in a broad group of disciplines. Modern medicine has markedly fragmented health care delivery and disintegrates it into various specialties and sub-specialties. For that, Francis Peabody in 1984 called up on the return of the generalist physicians who provide total, continuous and comprehensive health care to the individual and the family from the first contact and initial assessment to the management of chronic situation. To have such doctors with such attributes, medical schools are challenged not only to train doctors competently but also to respond to the community health care needs, in order to produce generalist physicians.
No surprise that family medicine should always be the foundation of any pyramidal health system that reforms the health services and not vice versa, which will be provided only by strong, deep sighted well qualified family physicians. But to develop such physicians a self-identity is required which is enforced by research and its outcome that ends being published in a prestigious journal such as the Family Medicine & Medical Science Research Journal.
I am extremely happy for the birth of this new journal and confident of its success and role in upgrading the standard of family physicians and the services that they provide.
